HSLDA Action gives homeschoolers a voice in government and protects their educational freedom. One of the primary ways we do this is through political engagement with candidates and elected leaders. We have three initiatives to accomplish this:

  • HSLDA Action Political Action Committee (PAC): Our federal PAC is dedicated to seeking out, endorsing, and providing active grassroots support to pro-family, pro-homeschooling candidates on the federal level. Our goal is to promote the ability of families to thrive. We pursue this goal by seeking to increase the number of pro-family, pro-homeschooling men and women in federal office.
  • HSLDA VA PAC: We recognize that all politics is local and that the state and local level is where the real day-to-day decisions about homeschooling are made. We have our successful pilot state-level PAC working to defend homeschooling where the rubber really meets the road. In time, we believe that this program could bear real fruit for homeschooling, and we need your help to expand it to other states!
  • Student Action Teams (SATs): HSLDA Action partners with Generation Joshua, our affiliated youth-civics organization, to organize grassroots deployments of politically minded and motivated high schoolers. These students will volunteer for our PAC-endorsed candidates, earning valuable hands-on experience in grassroots activism, while also helping protect freedom for their own families in the future.

These programs are all designed to help advance and protect homeschool freedom and opportunity. Homeschooling is regulated by policymakers, and policymakers are elected. While political engagement is not the end-all, be-all of homeschool advocacy, it is a vitally important aspect of ensuring the best educational options for our children and making homeschooling possible for the next generation.

Please join us in this cause. You can be part of making a difference for the future.
